2021 Winter Show PerdictionsPhiladelphia, PA - Will this year bring a lot of snow? Unfortunately, due to the overall meteorology pattern for this year being an La Niña year.

 

2020-2021 Philadelphia Winter Weather Outlook

What that means is high-pressure patterns will get stuck in the Northern Pacific Ocean, pushing the southern jet stream with the cold North jet stream.  Pushing across the country and locking in the colder air during the winter season in the Northern Plains and Canada with above-average temperatures.

This means overall a lack of snow,  8 different models taken so far all agree that temperatures will stay around the lower 40’s in the Mid Atlantic region, well above average temperatures.

How Much Snow Can Philadelphia Expect

So how much snow can we expect for Winter 2020-21? Experts are predicting Philadelphia will get 9 to 12 inches of snow and maybe as high as a foot.



The Leigh High Valley and The Jersey Shore will get less, with 6 to 9 inches well below average for the year.
