Philadelphia, PA - Mayor Kenney and Dr. Farley signed an amendment to the Philadelphia Business Activity and Stay-at-Home Order, which goes into effect immediately.
Philly Allows In-Person Ordering at Restaurants
The amendment allows walk-up ordering at food-service businesses throughout the city, and this includes restaurants and food trucks, subject to general social distancing requirements.
As Philadelphia prepares for the phased reopening to “Yellow” on June 5, steps are now taken to easing restrictions as the city moves away from “Phase Red.”
While restaurants will have fewer restrictions, dine-in service is still prohibited, and face coverings will be required for walk-up ordering. Also, restaurants are not allowed to permit lines of more than ten customers to form in-side or out-side of establishments.
The new order also lifts certain restrictions for construction and real estate activity. The scope of the City’s April 29 Construction Authorization Order will be revised to allow construction under building permits issued after March 20.
Philadelphia’s order reflects Governor Wolf’s announcement that the real estate industry may begin operating in the state.
