The 246th Marine Corps Birthday Celebration

Fast forward to today and the celebration of the Marine Corp's 246th birthday. And, in Philadelphia, there is no better place to celebrate Annual USMC Birthday Party than at Tankie's Tavern, formerly known As Cookie's Tavern in South Philly.


This year's official event will begin at 1 pm with the singing of the National Anthem by Mia Johnson. Along with the reading of The Commandants Message, a cake cutting ceremony with the youngest and oldest Marine present, and a special award presentation.


The night will continue with live music by the Hickstown Road Band, a DJ later in the evening, and a special presentation that will honor the Marines Birthday.

The event will take place today at 10th and West Oregon Avenue.
