Philadelphia, PA - Habitat Logistics has teamed up with United Merchants of the South 9th Street Business Association to deliver items from more than 15 retail shops for free delivery to more than 300,000 Philadelphians.
"Even if families can't visit each other, we want to be here to provide them with access to the foods that are such a big part of their holiday traditions. For 100 years, they have come to us. This year we are coming to them," said Danielle Renzulli, President of The United Merchants of the South 9th Street Business Association.
"With the COVID-19 outbreak, right now, our mission is more critical than ever," explained Andrew Nakkache, Habitat Logistics' Chief Executive Officer. "Local organizations are being forced to quickly figure out how to launch and scale their delivery operations due to the virus's negative impact on their business. We're here to help."
At the same time, Habitat also creates thousands of available gig-economy job opportunities. "Today, any restaurant worker impacted by business closures can sign up to begin working on our platform for comparable earnings, on their own hours."
Habitat Logistics is devoted to supporting both the regional food industry as well as the general public throughout these extraordinary times. In the spirit of ingenuity, Habitat just recently expanded its service, and it is now able to deliver for food markets city-wide.
