Philadelphia residents will soon have a new spot to indulge in spicy fried chicken. Popular chain Dave's Hot Chicken opened its first location in Philadelphia. This is part of their plan to open three new places in the larger Philly area this year.
Dave's Hot Chicken in Philadelphia
Originally started as a parking lot pop-up in Los Angeles, when in 2017, three childhood friends in their 20s pooled together $900 for their not-so-grand opening in an East Hollywood parking lot. With just a couple of folding tables and a portable fryer, they embarked on their hot chicken venture under the night sky.
Since then, Dave's Hot Chicken has rapidly expanded with over 170 locations in 30 states, Canada, and the Middle East. Their goal is to open 90 more locations this year and surpass 800 in the next five years.
The first Philly location will be in the Northeast Shopping Center and boasts 2,995 square feet. The franchise will expand with Willow Grove and Cherry Hill restaurants and five more locations in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware counties.
Dave's Hot Chicken is a renowned eatery known for its signature dish, jumbo Hot Chicken Tenders and Sliders. The menu also features delectable sides like house-made Kale Slaw, creamy Mac n' Cheese, and crispy, seasoned French fries. Dave's Hot Chicken is set apart in its seven spice levels, catering to all tastebuds.
From No Spice to the daring Reaper™, so intense that patrons must sign a waiver before indulging, the chicken is individually spiced-to-order, ensuring optimum flavor and satisfaction. With each succulent, hand-breaded piece of chicken specially prepared, Dave's Hot Chicken guarantees an unforgettable dining experience.
