Philadelphia, PA - When you hear Geno’s Steaks, what comes to mind? Fluorescent lights? Celebrities? Tourists? Let us now introduce you to the newest Philadelphian, Whizzy. Geno’s Steaks officially unveils Philadelphia’s first official cheesesteak mascot!
Whizzy was the brainchild child of Owner Geno Vento, who was created to embody kindness, positivity, and community. While bringing the concept to life, the Geno's Steaks team went through a few revisions to get it just right to ensure Geno's thoughtfully executed these characteristics.
“At Geno's Steaks, we have a long-standing history of giving back, and our goal with Whizzy is really to expand our reach even further throughout Philadelphia,” said Vento. “Whizzy will be our brand & community ambassador!"
In 2016, when the steak shop celebrated its 50th Anniversary, Geno’s Steaks hosted a free event for the community and donated $50,000 to six deserving local charities. This week, Geno’s Steaks will be continuing its giving streak and visiting by Easterseals, a school in West Philadelphia that has helped local children with disabilities for more than 70 years. Whizzy will spend time with the children and present a check to the organization. The next stop on Whizzy’s ‘week of giving’ will be Engine 10 in South Philadelphia. Whizzy will be dropping off lunch for the Firefighters and donating to the ‘Citizens for Fire Prevention Committee.’
