Philadelphia, PA - I was recently gifted with a litany of masterworks from the Emerald Isle a few years back at Tir Na Nog Irish Bar and Grill. As, the libations poured from the hands of their creators, showcasing their talent at crafting liquid heaven from across the sea.
The Irish Ambassadors are Here in Philadelphia
I’m writing about Irish Whiskey and the magic it brings to your spirit. Let us dive into this artistry you can taste, haunting aromas you can smell, and sensations you will most defiantly feel.
Connacht Whiskey - David Stapleton and PJ Stapleton presented us with a few of their creations.
- The Brothership - This Blended spirit from 10-year-old Irish malt whiskey and 10-year-old aged American whiskey was loose on the tongue, warm to the soul, and a reminder of happy days that give you pause.
- Spade & Bushel - Another 10 years aged in Oak is one to take note of. Try it. I can describe it as such. Take a deep breath. Hold it and Exhale slowly; now you have the feeling.
- Ballyhoo - Use this whiskey to celebrate. Don’t know what to celebrate? Well, take a sip, and maybe it will be the reason for your exaltation!
Lambay Whiskey - Aged in cognac casks on an island off the Green Isle, this lushly smooth and buttery has an end that’s warming and endearing.
Bushmills - A real Irish whiskey, single malt aged for 16-year old, with full notes from its bourbon & sherry blend, aged in port barrels to entice you closer and won’t bite due to its incredible maturity.
Tully More Dew - Without question, a favorite of mine. The 14-year single malt was simply stellar with a miraculous finish.
Knappogue Castle - Had a very mild yet distinct flavor profile that stands alone just fine. The concoctions you can use this potion for are limitless.
Teeling Whiskey - Their small batch was enticing with so smooth a finish. It is no wonder they are so well renowned.
Five Farms Irish Cream - A traditional Irish cream. Light, without being too sweet. I can only wonder what the profile would be in a dark roast coffee.
A taste of the Green Isle is the one thing you may have been missing out on. Life is short, and there is fun to be had, so enjoy yourself and bring a bit of Ireland into your world. Your mind and soul will thank you.
