Philly Vegan DayPhiladelphia, PA - World Vegan Day is right around the corner on November 1, and to celebrate the veg-friendly bash, we’re highlighting our go-to Philadelphia restaurants offering ridiculously delicious plant-based fare.

 

Where to Celebrate World Vegan Day

Sor Ynez, Silk City Diner, Bar & Lounge, and Triangle Tavern on East Passyunk Avenue boast extensive vegan offerings. At the same time, locales such as Sabrina’s Café and Square 1682 provide guests with an unexpected, flavorful dish fit to impress veg-focused foodies.

Silk City Diner Bar & Lounge

The eclectic Northern Liberties diner and lounge offer up a satiating vegan fare with starters including Silky Hummus and Seitan Wings and crowd-pleasing handheld sandwiches including Crispy Maitake Mushroom.

Silk City Diner boasts an extensive line-up of savory and sweet creations, including Vanilla Vegan Pancakes composed of vanilla pancakes, seasonal berry compote, and powdered sugar for the brunch-goer. Hours of operation are Wednesday from 5 — 10 pm, Thursday from 5 — 11 pm, Friday from 5 — 12 am, Saturday from 11 am — 12 am, and Sunday from 11 am — 9 pm. 435 Spring Garden St.



Sor Ynez

The Mexico City-inspired restaurant in South Kensington offers an abundance of plant-based dishes with an authentic Mexican flare, including the meat-less and dairy-free Vegan Mixiote.

Sor Ynez offers Vegan Churros rolled in cinnamon sugar for those with a sweet tooth. They are served with oat milk champurrado – ideal for capping off one filling and rewarding culinary experience. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 4 — 9 pm, Saturday from 12 — 9 pm, and Sunday from 12 — 5 pm. 1800 N American St.



Triangle Tavern on East Passyunk Avenue

Home to more than 160 independently-owned businesses in South Philadelphia, it offers a plethora of creative, unique vegan-friendly fare sure to impress the elite of food enthusiasts with all-vegan dishes.

Hours of operation Monday through Friday 12 pm — 2 am, and Saturday through Sunday 11 am — 2 am. 1338 S 10 Th St.

Sabrina’s Café

the locally grown group of popular breakfast, lunch, and (in one case) dinner restaurants, puts a twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak with the meat-less and dairy-free, fan-favorite dishes Veggie Philly Cheesesteak crafted with marinated seitan as the base, topped with sautéed onions and long hots served with vegan cheese on a Sarcone’s roll. Tofu Scramble prepared with spiced tofu, sauteed onions, bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and shallots. Multiple Locations

The modern American kitchen at the intersection of 17 and Sansom streets in the Rittenhouse neighborhood boasts a rich, spice-forward, vegan entrée with the signature Cauliflower Curry composed of madras curry, coconut milk, crispy chickpeas, and spinach.
