To celebrate him, and say thank you for his guidance and support through the years, there are events and specials going on throughout the tri-state area. There are offerings for father with a refined palate, events to take him to for food AND fun, or establishments that honor dads with freebies.


For the man with distinguished taste, why not bring him to a restaurant that is sure to please:

At Chez Ben you can bring your Father to enjoy a Father’s Day Whiskey Pairing Menu. Chez Ben in Old City will be offering a special dinner menu with whiskey pairing for fathers. Course one is French Onion Soup made with Caramelized Onion, Crouton, Gruyere, and served with Dad's Hat Rye (PA). Course two will be a Flatiron Steak, Market Green and Frites served with Greenore Single Grain (Ireland).  For dessert, the meal will finish out with Apple Tart made with fresh Apples and Caramel, served with Lemon Sorbet and a glass of Auchentoshan 12yr (Scotland). ($65 per person).

In Ocean Prime, Center City’s luxury seafood and steakhouse, will open at 3 p.m to treat dad to Executive Chef Jenn Grosskruger’s extravagant featured dish: a 10 oz. Filet, Blackened Scallop Surf and Turf topped with a gorgonzola cream sauce ($62).

For the Father who is a steak aficionado, then bringing him to Barclay Prime is a perfect idea!

There’s no better way to treat dad for Father’s Day than a good steak. A smart revamp of the conventional steakhouse, the Barclay Prime menu is built around subtle twists that never skimp on luxury. Meat and seafood programs unmatched in quality jive with highly personalized touches, like the curated selection of steak knives presented to diners prior to their entrees. Let someone else have the grilling duty!

At Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar you can celebrate Dad in a big way for Father’s Day weekend! On June 15th through the 17th, you can bring him to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar to indulge in a three-course menu featuring a 35 oz. Prime Tomahawk —a steak as legendary as Dad himself! Guests can also celebrate dad with a premium bourbon tasting experience of Basil Hayden’s, Buffalo Trace & Knob Creek as well.

Or perhaps your Dad is an early riser—Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will also open early at 10AM on Father’s Day, offering a three-course brunch menu, featuring delicious classics like Fleming’s Steak & Egg Scramble, featuring sliced filet mignon, blistered tomatoes and caramelized onions, served with a scramble of farm fresh eggs and vegetables. And for those looking to enjoy their dinner favorites, the main menu will also be available all day. (Reservations recommended)

Cinder, Copper & Lace is having a special Father's Day brunch with menu favorites, off-menu specials, and a free flight of four beers and/or ciders for Dad when the family dines-in. Father's Day brunch features savory to sweet dishes in five key areas - breakfast and brunch pizza, sweets, bennys, burgers/sandwiches and entrees. Weather pending, the windows will be open with a perfect view of the sidewalk scene in Rittenhouse neighborhood! Brunch service 10:00am to 3:00pm and Dinner service will be held from 3:00pm to 2:00am.

At Rex 1516 you can celebrate dad with a Southern-inspired Sunday Supper. This feast by Chef Justin Swain includes smoked brisket, pork, hot link sausage, bread, pickles and onions and choice of two sides. Philadelphians are encouraged to make reservations ahead of time to secure this meat-lovers meal. ($30 per person)

If you want to wow him with a delicious dinner with a view, bring your father to Garces restaurant, 24. At Garces restaurant 24, they are offering a special menu just for dad’s called ‘Dinner for Champs’ which includes a 20oz Cowboy Cut Ribeye and Potato Gratin paired with a new specialty cocktail, The Champ ( Jim Beam, Aperol, Galliano, Lemon and Honey)—you can end the day-long celebration well while you and your Champion Father dine on the patio overlooking the Schuylkill Banks.

At Valley Forge Casino Resort you can treat Dad to a steak dinner this Father’s Day with the options of two different steak specials. At Revolution Chop House indulge in a 16 oz. Rib Eye with black truffle mash potatoes, sautéed spinach, black garlic crema, and wild mushrooms ($45), or visit Valley Tavern for a 12 oz NY strip steak with shrimp and crab scampi, sautéed spinach, and mashed potato ($35). Reservations recommended.

Express your gratitude to the man who does it all this Father’s Day at Davio’s King of Prussia. This year, in addition to a full brunch and dinner menu, Davio’s King of Prussia will be offering a selection of Father’s Day Specials from Executive Chef Ted Iwachiw. Chef Iwachiw has created a selection of traditional dishes with a Northern Italian twist. Specials include the Wild Atlantic Halibut, Tomato Polenta, Charred Asparagus, and Lemon Olive Oil. Or your meat-loving father can enjoy Davio’s Braised Beef Short Rib Ravioli, Kennett Square Mushrooms, Ricotta Firma, and Barolo Vin Cotto. The Father’s Day menu additions will be offered on Sunday, June 17th from 11:00am to 10:00pm.

For the history or spirits buffs, Red Owl Tavern boasts views of Independence Mall and one of the city’s largest selections of brown spirits. Lead Bartender Kyle Darrow crafted “Dad’s Old Fashioned,” two fingers pour of Old Grand-Dad 100 Proof, sugar, and bitters ($5). Fathers will also enjoy a complementary Victory Brewing Company’s Summer Love along with The Father’s Day feature: a 14 oz. Char Grilled Prime NY Strip served with Stilton Blue Cheese and Chive Mashed Potatoes, Honey Roasted Baby Carrots, Crispy Shallots and Cabernet Demi-Glace ($32). 

Bring Pop in to P’unk Burger on Father's Day to East Passyunk's burger, shake and fries organic hot spot for a free Root Beer Float. Dads will enjoy their choice of ice cream - including vegan varieties - with Fair Trade and organic Maine Root fountain soda. (Gluten free, vegan, vegetarian offerings)

For anyone who enjoys a little time with Dad sipping on some libations, there are some places that cater to the distinguished past-time of cherishing a cold brew or well-made liquor.

Bring Dad to Bluebird Distilling for a complementary flight tasting of its American whiskies for Father’s Day. The Phoenixville Distillery and its retail store at The Shops at Liberty Place will offer a flight that includes Bluebird’s Four Grain Bourbon, Rye Whiskey and American Wheat Whiskey. Guests should be prepared to prove their dad status!

For all the last-minute shoppers out there, Art in the Age offers an extensive range of craft cocktail supplies, books and local products sure to please any dad. And on Father’s Day the Art in the Age is offering a special whiskey cocktail line-up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can take him to The Old City tasting room and home bar supply store which is the quintessential spot to treat pop to a whiskey-focused cocktail and keep him in good spirits. On Sunday, June 17th, this family owned casual eatery invites the whole family down for lunch or dinner. All the Dads will eat free in the dining room with his choice of any arepa. Dim Sum House by Jane G's is serving up a complimentary order of soup dumplings with Dad when he celebrates with his family on Father's Day. Dim Sum House offers unique experience for Dad with two types of Dim Sum service, complimentary tea, plus seating for large groups of families. Three talented chefs will show off their expertise in the kitchen with a menu that focuses on two authentic styles of Chinese dim sum (Shanghai and Cantonese), plus fried rice, noodles, chef specialties, and familiar Chinese favorites.  Seating is available for up to 20-30 people in five unique dining rooms. At Veda Modern Indian Bistro, Fathers will be treated to a complimentary Old Fashioned while enjoying a mouth-watering modern Indian cuisine. Mama Maria's Homemade Italian Ice is now open for its first full season in Port Richmond!
