Residents Encouraged to Vote in April for a Philadelphia Park to Receive $20,000

Philadelphia, PA - This April, “Earth Month,” The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is collaborating with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney|ABC Television Group and ESPN, to revitalize parks across the U.S. for the third year, including a park in Philadelphia. Through Meet Me at the Park, Philadelphia residents will chose one of three local parks to receive a $20,000 grant.

Philadelphia's New PHLpreK Program Creates Teaching Opportunities

PHILADELPHIA PA – Mayor Jim Kenney's PHLpreK, the City of Philadelphia’s quality pre-K program, funded by the City of Philadelphia Soda Tax, has created 251 jobs to date. In a survey completed by PHLpreK providers last week, pre-K center owners and directors reported having created 191 teaching positions; 147 of which are full time and 44 are part-time. New Cellphone and Audio Device Restrictions at Stout Criminal Justice Center

PHILADELPHIA, PA – In an effort to deter, if not eliminate, intimidation of witnesses and courtroom disruptions, the First Judicial District - Courts of Philadelphia, has partnered with Yondr™, a company specializing in creating phone-free spaces, to implement new cellphone and recording device restrictions at the Juanita Kidd Stout Center for Criminal Justice beginning Monday - April 3, 2017.

Philadelphia Introduces Legislation Advancing Rebuilding of City

PHILADELPHIA PA – Alongside Mayor Jim Kenney FY18 Budget, Capital Plan and Five Year Plan, the Kenney Administration also introduced today two ordinances to authorize $300 million in borrowing and create a governance structure for Rebuild. Rebuild is the multi-year program to revitalize neighborhood parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, and libraries across the city.
