Philadelphia, PA - Two more killings were added to Philadelphia’s ongoing violence this year that has increased the cities homicide rate to more than all of last year.
Philadelphia Killings Continue
Gunshots rang out Thursday night in separate shootings, one which left seven injured seven and two others in critical condition, police said.
The shoots started around at 7:46 p.m., and no more than five minutes later, officers responded to yet another shooting of a 56-year-old man shot 15 times, who died a short time later, according to police.
In total, the Associated Press reports that a 29-year-old man was killed in the shooting which wounded seven. A 28-year-old man had been shot multiple times and is in critical condition. A 25-year-old man shot once in the mid-section is also in critical condition. Police said the other victims are stable.
Police department statistics report 363 have occurred in the city as of Monday night — already the highest recorded homicide total in more than a decade.
