The Wildwoods - Seven sculptures by artist Seward Johnson were placed in parks around Wildwood in conjunction with the Arts in the Parks summer series.
Seven Sculptures By Nj Natives Are On Display In Wildwood, NJ
Known for his art celebrating everyday life, Johnson steps back in time with Embracing Peace to tribute to World War II veterans. His art honors the past and reminds us of our nation's past sacrifices. Embracing Peace is a modern tribute to our country's veterans, Home Coming, at Fox Park.
Seward Johnson was a philanthropist visionary, and artist, that established the Johnson Atelier in Hamilton, NJ, in 1974. He later created Grounds For Sculpture, a nonprofit sculpture park, museum, and arboretum on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds.
This year visitors to Wildwood can not only follow the bike tour of the seven sculptures. But, also relax at Holly Beach Park, take in a concert at Scotty's Park, learn something new at SOLCOW Park, and indulge in an ultimate frisbee competition with Yuck, Go Fetch! At Juniper and Pacific.
