Philadelphia, PA - It's official: Santucci's Pizza is opening a new location in North Wildwood, NJ. The famous Philadelphia pizza chain first opened in 1959 on 'O Street in the Juniata Park neighborhood. Armed with the family recipe of making the square pizza on a square pan with sauce on top. As the word spread throughout the Philadelphia restaurant scene, they quickly became a household name. North Wildwood will be the company's newest addition.
Santucci's Square Pizza is Opening Up in Wildwood NJ
Originally from Philadelphia, Santucci's Square Pizza is famous for its square-shaped pizza with sauce piled on top of the cheese. The restaurant has a few locations in the Philadelphia area and had plans to open up on the Wildwood boardwalk in 2020. However, the plans were delayed due to the pandemic. The new Wildwood location will be at 402 E. 26TH Avenue at the former Munchies location. Just down the street from Sam's Pizza Palace and just off the boardwalk.
Originally from South Philly, Joe Santucci's Original Square Pizza has expanded over the years. Santucci's is "known as" the home of the "square-on-square" pie, which features a pizza square with cheese and sauce. The chain is one of Philadelphia's best and most popular pizzas, with lines out the door.
However, the company has said it is still planning to eventually open two locations in Wildwood, NJ, to cater to the local crowd. The first Wildwood location is expected to open by the end of April 2022 and seat approximately 30 people inside, along with an outdoor patio for casual dining. The company is also planning to offer delivery for customers.
