Philadelphia, PA - Marlo Dilks and Jason Dilks, owners of SliCE and P'unk Burger, will open Nipotina at 2238 S. 21st Street at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 13th, as a tribute to Marlo's grandmother and family. Nipotina will offer its take on South Philly sandwiches and Italian cuisine.
On the extensive menu, customers can choose from nearly three dozen mouthwatering handhelds such as cheesesteaks (beef or chicken), chicken cutlets, and meatball sandwiches made with bread from Liscio's Italian Bakery. Vegan options include vegan cheesesteaks, cutlets, and vegan breakfast sandwiches.
"Nipotina is inspired by my childhood and growing up in South Philadelphia," said Marlo. "I wanted to share my family's story and present a menu inspired by the cooking of my Italian grandmothers. The smell, the flavor, the memories, the love in the kitchen each and every day. I wanted to return to those days with a menu and a vibe that everyone who comes in the door can feel like family."
All sandwiches and handhelds are gluten-free. Sides paired with the sandwich include a side salad and house-made fried mozzarella. A selection of beverages will also be available, all featuring natural sugars like Harney & Sons Butterfly Lemonade or Culture Pop Orange Mango Chili.
Future offerings will include fresh juices, desserts, and summertime treats. There will also be collaborations with local restaurants. NIpotina serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
