Philadelphia, PA - Arts in the Industry, the Philadelphia-based organization creating opportunities for artists from the hospitality industry, is celebrating industry professionals with Wands & Whisky, an evening of magic-inspired art and music on Tuesday, July 30, from 7-10 pm at Cherry Street Pier.
Witchcraft and Wizardry, Wands & Whisky
Now in its second year of witchcraft and wizardry, Wands & Whisky features a dark alley art market consisting of 30 local artists selling a variety of wares, including paintings, illustrations, ceramics, jewelry, cosmetics and more. DJ Kevin Kong will provide live musical enchantments while witches, wizards, and muggles alike enjoy potions and elixirs of the alcohol and non-alcoholic type.
This enchanted event pays homage to the spectacular wizarding competitions of yesteryear with The Tender’s Cup, a cocktail contest of taste and skill celebrating this era’s most daring cocktails.
“We are excited to bring together this amazing community of artists in a way that feels super-inclusive and fun,” said Alison Hangen, founder of Arts in the Industry and Philadelphia Magazine’s Best Bartender of 2018.
The event will feature dogs from PAWS, as well as a raffle-fundraiser for the non-profit clinic, dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless and at-risk animals. Guests can find they're furry familiar among the dogs present for adoption.
The evening is hosted by Arts in the Industry, a local group dedicated to promoting the creative work of Philadelphia’s bar and restaurant professionals since 2015.
Tickets are $35 and includes voting privileges for The Tender’s Cup, as well as competition cocktail samples, beer samples, liquor samples, a t-shirt, tote bag, sunglasses, and a complementary cauldron.
