PHILADELPHIA, PA -- After nearly 50 years in South Philly, Amin & Jude Bitar announce the refocus of their business to adapt to 21st-century realities.

Capping a 50-year run as the original middle eastern & Mediterranean ingredients grocery, also celebrated for middle eastern lunch & dinner platters & catering ... And the regular patronage by top chefs worldwide. Bitar's sold its building @ 10th & federal final day is Saturday, June 3rd.

Amin says, "Our 10th & Federal Street house has been sold. We are taking the summer off to relax and travel Lebanon -- my homeland for the first time since I turned 10 -- and checking out the latest food trends."

When we return to Bitar's with a TBA location, we will offer the best of Bitar in a new innovative format. We promise that no one will be hungry!

The last day of Bitar's 10th & Federal is June 3. Amin and Jude will be reminded at the announcement of their debt to their parents, Elias & Marietta, who moved from Lebanon and founded the business that Bitar's is today.
