Philadelphia, PA—Foodies, get excited! Tyler Akin is the culinary mastermind behind Philadelphia's beloved stock restaurants and the upcoming Bastia. Bastia, set to open later this spring in Fishtown's boutique Anna & Bel hotel, is already causing a stir with its Mediterranean-inspired menu and recent mention in Bon Appetit's list of anticipated openings.
Taste the Mediterranean Before it Lands in Fishtown: Tyler Akin's "Bastia"
Before opening the doors, Akin will host two exclusive preview dinners at Philly's most celebrated restaurants: a.kitchen in Rittenhouse and Laurel in East Passyunk.
What is Bastia?
Partnering with Foyer Project, Tyler Akin brings a slice of the sun-soaked Mediterranean to Philly's Fishtown neighborhood. Bastia will seamlessly transition from a leisurely cafe by day to a vibrant restaurant by night, drawing inspiration from the coastal cuisines of Corsica and Sardinia. Expect thoughtful nods to Sicilian and Croatian flavors grounded in seasonal, mid-Atlantic ingredients. The focus will be on vegetable- and seafood-forward dishes, complemented by low-intervention wines from the region and refreshing spritzes and aperitifs.
