Philadelphia, PA - Italian Delite, Broomall, PA. Who knew tropical storm Isaias would be this bad? In the middle of the torrential downpours, I end up in Lansdowne and hungry.
The Italian Delite, in Broomall PA
There were some intersections in the middle of the neighborhoods that I would have never thought in a million years would flood and son of a gun if they were flooded. I went through some flooded spots that I did not think my little car was going to make it through. Heck, I was surprised some of the big cars made it.
I made the safe call and headed for home. Of course, I'm driving along, thinking the rain is starting to lighten up, and I felt like I had a nice safe, high ground route to Delaware, so I decided to go to Italian Delight in Broomall for a cheesesteak.
Italian Delight Broomall is in a strip mall next to a Wawa. I wish I would have gone into the Wawa to get an ice tea while I waited for my Cheesesteak. And, I wish the PECO man would have turned off his diesel engine truck while parked next to me.
Specialty Cheesesteak vs. the Cheesesteak Special
Italian Delight is a pretty typical pizza shop—a decent number of tables inside for when COVID regs are lifted. I can see some resemblance to its distant cousin in Trappe, PA.
I ordered the Specialty Cheesesteak vs. the Cheesesteak Special. The specialty cheesesteak comes with fried onions, mushrooms, green peppers, pepperoni, sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
The extras spent some time on the grill together and were mixed together nicely. However, they could have spent more time on the grill together and been mixed together more thoroughly.
