Philadelphia, PAPhillyBite PA Blue Victory Fund - Culinary legend Steve Poses has created his proudest dish yet: The Blue Plate Special. On September 17, 2018, nearly 40 of the city’s top chefs, restaurateurs, distillers and food artisans will join 35 of the best and brightest local candidates at the Franklin Institute for a world-class culinary fundraiser to help turn Pennsylvania blue. Former Governor Ed Rendell will serve as the Honorary Executive Chef, manning the slider station at the event.

Event proceeds will go into the PA Blue Victory Fund, which has been established to help boost the turnout in the upcoming midterm election and to lay the foundations of support for the next few years.

Participating chefs, restaurateurs and food personalities include Ellen Yin (Fork), Scott Schroeder (Hungry Pigeon), Sam Mink (Oyster House), Aimee Olexy (Talula’s Garden), Sam Kincaid (Cadence), Stephanie Reitano (Capogiro), Christopher Curtin (Éclat Chocolate), JonCarl Lachman (Noord), Luca Sena (Panorama), Andy Satinsky (Weckerly’s Ice Cream) and Heather Thomason (Primal Supply Meats). Beverages will be provided by Philadelphia Distilling (Bluecoat Gin) and La Colombe Coffee Roasters, among others.

“I am pleased to be a part of such an all-encompassing effort to support all of these candidates and grassroots efforts,” said Former Governor Ed Rendell, Honorary Executive Chef. “The Blue Plate Special is truly a one-of-a-kind event that the city of Philadelphia has never seen before and a must-attend event whether you’re a political aficionado or a foodie.”

In addition to food stations from the area’s top culinary innovators, the evening will feature a pep rally in the atrium, during which candidates will gather together on stage for photo opportunities and brief remarks.
