1. Jessop's Tavern

Jessop's Tavern is one of the best places in New Castle to snag a decent beer.  It's got more than one beer on tap, so you'll have no problem picking your favorite. Plus, there's an ice cream parlor next door! The tavern has a long history. Today, it's a casual pub in a circa-1724 building with Colonial fare features servers in period costumes. As a result, it's the oldest restaurant in town. Today, it's the epicenter of the historic district, where it's not uncommon to spot a politician chatting with a group of college kids.

2. Zollies Jazz Cucina

Zollie's Jazz Cucina is one of the best restaurants in New Castle. With a sleek interior and good drinks, it is a must-stop for any foodie. Whether looking for the perfect date, a quick dinner, or a night on the town, this is the spot for you. Zollie's offers fresh, tasty, and creative cuisine. You'll find it here if you're a steak, seafood, or pasta fan. If you're after a drink, there are cocktails and bottled beers. Aside from the standard lunch and dinner menu, Zollie's offers delivery and specials. You'll also be treated to some of the area's best live jazz.  The artful interior is a plus, as is the friendly staff.

3. Walter's Steakhouse

If you're looking for a steakhouse in Delaware, look no further than Walter's Steakhouse. It is located in Wilmington's Little Italy, and it's been operating since 1993. Aside from great meat, the steakhouse has a variety of wine and drink options, and it's also got a private room to hold your next big party. The Constantinou family has been in the restaurant industry for over 77 years. John and Sophie Constantinou operated a sub-shop in the Forty Acres Neighborhood from 1951 to 1952. Later, the couple bought the B&O Restaurant in Trolley Square and turned it into a steakhouse. They were the first to serve prime beef in the state of Delaware.

4. Nora Lees

Nora Lees in New Castle, Delaware, can be found on the illustrious Delaware Street.  This venerable palace offers a menu that is a delight to the taste buds. If you are looking for a high-end cajun meal or something to nosh on in the evening, you will not be disappointed. The food is tasty, and the service is top-notch. The decor is as good as the cuisine, and the bar is well-appointed and inviting. Despite the proximity to downtown New Castle, you won't have to worry about parking issues.

It serves a variety of foods and beverages and boasts a teahouse with a small bar and patio. The menu is comprised of healthy and vegetarian options, as well as a full bar and wine list. Aside from the teas, there are also a variety of bowls and snacks. The Mercury Cafe & Teahouse is located in the heart of Historic New Castle, Delaware. It is a great place to visit if you're in town for a day trip or a weekend getaway.
