Leo's Steak Shop, Folcroft, PA.Philadelphia, PA - Leo's is September in the 2021 Cheesesteak Calendar. September is the end of summer and time to get back to work and school. It is also time to get back to oversized traditional cheesesteaks.

Eating the 2021 Cheesesteak Calendar at Leo's Steak Shop, Folcroft, PA.

Leo's has been serving oversized traditional cheesesteaks to the beautiful people of Delaware County since 1974. They are in Folcroft, but if you cross Chester Pike, you will be in Sharon Hill, PA., and I think the Clifton Heights border is nearby.

Leo's Steak Shop continually wins 'best of' awards; however, their most prestigious win to date was winning the first annual 2020 Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure March Cheesesteak Madness Tournament sponsored by PhillyBite Magazine. See... Leo's Steak Shop Wins 1st Annual Cheesesteak Madness

My newest reason to love Leo's is Steve is always trying to improve the customer experience. They have recently renovated inside to include a counter for inside seating in a bathroom (unfortunately, neither has opened due to COVID).

On this trip to Leo's, Steve (the owner) told me about his plans to renovate the outside of the building, including a new parking lot.

To celebrate eating the 2021 Cheesesteak Calendar and Leo's, I reached out to Delco resident Jim Hasson. Jim and I were regular podcast contributors and stars of the short-lived social media mega-hit cheesesteak review series Jim #1 vs. Jim #2.

We ordered a large cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. Jin #2 got a side of Leo's hand-cut french fries.

This Cheesesteak starts with a crusty traditional roll that we all know and love. It has a lot of good chopped meat.

The fried onions and mushrooms spent time on the grill with the meat getting to know each other. Cheese, Leo knows it's a cheesesteak and has Cheese in the name. The Cheese is melted through the whole Cheesesteak getting its cheesy goodness on everything.

If you get a large, have friends or a need for leftovers. Leo's large comes on an 18-inch roll full of cheesy, meaty goodness.
