Eating the Cheesesteak Calendar at Oh Brother, Philadelphia, PA.

You can begin and end your pursuit of a great Cheesesteak at Oh Brother. This was a fun day. I went to Oh Brother early in the adventure when they had first opened. That had to be at least two years ago, and I haven't been back since then. I was with Kevin from the Dining on a Dime podcast, and I haven't seen them since the Beer Fest at the Navy Yard back in March.

Oh Brother opened to many rave reviews. I often wondered if I had gotten caught up in the excitement of a new Cheesesteak place in Old City or if they really were that good.

Oh my goodness, gracious!! They are better than I remember. They are good enough to get a 'Holy Mackerel' on top of the 'Oh my goodness gracious'! They are so good, and I was talking on a podcast, I forgot to get a video of me eating the cheesesteak. There were six of us, so I ordered three cheesesteaks.

On all three, I got fried onions and mushrooms. I took advantage of Oh Brother's cheese options. I ordered the American on one, Whiz on the 2nd, and a combination, recommended by the helpful young woman at the counter, Whiz and Provolone on the 3rd.

They came on toasted bakery-quality rolls. The rib-eye is tender, flavorful, and plentiful. The fried onions and mushrooms add great flavor, and this was confirmed by the 'cheesesteak traditionalist' in attendance. The cheeses were melted through very nicely on each of the cheesesteaks.

As a special treat, we got a french onion cheesesteak and a cheesesteak with sriracha and hot peppers. My guests Kevin Wilson, raved about the French Onion Cheesesteak and Matt Maratea posted about the sriracha and hot peppers.
