Philadelphia, PA Quick Stop, Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA - Quick Stop, Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Sunday morning, July 5th, 8:30 a.m., and I find myself in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. I never gave it much thought, but I assumed people in Kensington we're not morning people.

Kensington's Quick Stop on Frankford Ave

But, I was shocked by the number of people that were up and about. My initial thought was to get out of Kensington as quickly as possible. My second thought was to get back to Wilmington Delaware as soon as possible.

Then I heard this voice, which could have been the same voice that Mel Gibson's character talks about hearing in Lethal Weapon 2 after he found his gold pen under the couch.

Use your deep movie voice - you took an oath to eat every cheesesteak until you find the ultimate cheesesteak.

So I turned right onto Frankford Ave off of Lehigh and not three blocks down on the right, Bam, Quick Stop. Again I am amazed by the number of people buzzing around Quick Stop, most of which driving, so they did not have to walk around the man sleeping on the sidewalk.

The sign in the window said to call your order in, so I did. Even with all the traffic, I felt a little uncomfortable taking my sign selfie, so I decided to wait till after I got my food.
When I did go inside, at least three people were waiting for food. An Uber driver came in to pick up an Uber Eats order. They all had a warm tray full of pre-made sandwiches and breakfast food to Grab & Go.

Another man was cashing in a winning lottery ticket—a very diverse crowd on a Sunday morning at the Quick Stop in Kensington.

I got a cheesesteak with mushrooms. Reasonably priced and maybe a touch larger than most Papi stores. Everything spent time together on the grill, and it turned out to be an excellent mix and melt— on a fresh roll.
