Philadelphia, PA - Where to Celebrate National Pie Day? Below are some restaurants celebrating Pie Day with an assortment of slices for sweet and savory fanatics alike. No matter your own desire — meat, shoofly, apple or pecan — the below restaurants have you covered!
Urban Farmer, Philly’s modern “chic” American steakhouse, is commemorating National Pie Day alongside, not one, but two pies — a sweet AND a savory. Executive Chef Seth Pettit is cooking up an Urban Farmer Meat Pie ($14), boasting braised wagyu, roasted root vegetable, Herve mascarpone and Saba for those who prefer a savory option. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy a Shoofly Pie ($10), served with streusel, Chantilly, and mocha ice cream. The meat pie will be available during lunch, while the Shoofly Pie will be available during lunch and dinner. 1850 Benjamin Franklin Parkway | 215.963.2788 | www.urbanfarmerphiladelphia.com
CO-OP, The Study hotel’s bustling restaurant and lounge located on the corner of 33rd and Chestnut Sts., has a rotating selection of freshly baked pies available year-round. Apple and pecan lovers are in luck, as CO-OP will be serving up $8 slices of each tomorrow in celebration of National Pie Day. Pair a slice (or two) with one of the CO-OP’s many coffee-based beverages for the perfect post-dinner pick-me-up. 20 S 33rd St. | 215.398.1874 | www.coopphilly.com
Ocean Prime, while known for its extensive selection of prime seafood and steak offerings, has a delicious dessert menu, with favorites such as the Ten Layer Carrot Cake, Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Cake with hand spun ice cream. However, the real showstopper is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie ($12), served with a rich and creamy peanut butter mousse center, and topped with a bittersweet chocolate ganache. This decadent dessert is available tomorrow for National Pie Day — but, don’t worry, it’s an Ocean Prime staple and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. 124 S. 15th St. | 215.563.0163 | https://www.ocean-prime.com
