1000 CheesesteaksPhiladelphia, PA - Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure's countdown to the 1,000th different Cheesesteaks has begun!! Cheesesteaks 991 thru 995 were an adventure all by themselves. Cheesesteak 991 kicked off the countdown to 1,000 and doubled as a planning meeting for 1,000. Cheesesteak 994 I met an early adventurer at a cool old spot. I met two old food warriors at a new place in Hainesport, NJ, to end the first five.

1,000th different Cheesesteak Has Begun

The Amish Farmer's Market

Different cheesesteak #991 in the last four years. Special Guest Eater Dan Trammell. The countdown to 1,000 has begun!! The special announcement, Dan is going to cook #1,000! The pressure is on him. This is the same Amish Farmer's Market in Westtown, PA., except the stores opposite. Since I've been to that market several times and I was in NJ to feel J Cohl in my soul, I asked for a ribeye cheesesteak grill cheese on rye bread. I left not liking a few things about this Cheesesteak, but it looks incredible in the pictures. What I wanted; 1. Special order, no problem. 2. Fried onions and mushrooms spent a lot of time together and added great flavor. 3. Cheese may have started on top, but it did get everywhere. BUT the cheese may have gotten everywhere because I would have liked more meat. The meat may have been a touch dry which is ironic because this Cheesesteak was oily. Bieler's donuts are across the aisle. 108 Swedesboro Rd, Mullica Hill, NJ. Scored 90/100. | https://youtu.be/ojVVJfIyLKo

D&S Sub Shop

Different cheesesteak #994 in the last four years. Unique Guest Eater Jeff. Very cool old building. It was built in 1948 to be a sandwich shop. The Cheesesteak is traditional. Solid roll. The fried onions and mushrooms spent time on the grill together. They added a very good flavor. The meat was good, maybe a touch dry. I would have liked more cheese and a better cheese melt. If you go for the experience, you won't be disappointed. 305 S White Horse Pike, Waterford Works, NJ. Cheesesteak scored 87/100. | https://youtu.be/KHErwLBarp0

Lillo's Tomato Pies

Different cheesesteak #995 in the last four years. Special Guest Eaters J Cohl and J2. My bad, I ordered the Italian Cheesesteak. I was thinking pepperoni, mozzarella, gabbagool, and maybe sauce. No, 'Italian' as in Italian Hot Dog. The J's got regular cheesesteaks with extra Cheesesteak. All 3 came on an amazing Liscio's seeded roll. My meat was not chopped and a touch dry. The J's really liked their cheesesteaks, and they did look delicious. I'll be back for March Cheesesteak Madness and review the regular Cheesesteak. The potatoes and peppers were good but too much for me. 2503 Marne Hwy, Hainesport, NJ. Scored 91/100. | https://youtu.be/-9CbVGX0uGU
