Philadelphia, PA - For the very first time in the luxury cruise line's history, Princess Cruises is going to bring in a brand new French eatery to North American. The premiere of La Mer by Three-Michelin Star Chef, Emmanuel Renaut, aboard its new cruise ship Sky Princess, is going to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale in December 2019 for its inaugural season of Caribbean vacation cruises.
Princess Cruises Introduces La Mer Restaurant
Chef Renaut is the proprietor and executive chef from the Flocons de Sel restaurant, situated in the French Alps village of Megève. Flocons de Sel which was honored with its third Michelin star back in 2012, having attained its first in 2004 along with a second in 2006. Before establishing the dining establishment in 1998, Renaut had been employed in the restaurant industry, including Claridge's, Hotel de Crillon and Auberge de l'Eridan. He additionally holds the distinguished title of "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" (MOF) that translates to One of the Best Craftsmen of France.
La Mer will provide casual, French bistro-style cuisine with a contemporary twist influenced by the flavors and feel of the French Alps and contrasts coming from the ocean. The niche eating venue is going to be placed in the lively Sky Princess atrium. The restaurant first debuted aboard Majestic Princess in 2017 to rave reviews coming from international cruisers while the ship had been based in China.
