At Coral Caverns, you'll explore the only known coral reef cavern in the world and uncover a rich treasure trove of fossils, stalactites, and stalagmites - natural formations which have awed and inspired thousands for over 80 years. Come experience this natural phenomenon for yourself!
The tour begins in the cave museum with fossils, minerals, and speleothems on display. The museum also has dioramas of the Late Silurian/Lower Devonian reef habitats and mining tools from an abandoned quarry that sprang up when the limestone was deposited.
Before you enter the cave, you'll be required to read and sign a waiver. You'll learn about safety precautions such as stooping frequently to walk through areas with ceilings as high as 4.5 feet, narrow passages, 50 descending steps (possibly 50 ascending if the tour is modified due to high water conditions), slippery walkways and the importance of not touching anything inside the fragile cave environment.
