Mayor Kenney Creates Office on People with Disabilities

Philadelphia, PA - According to recent Census data, an estimated 16 percent of Philadelphia’s residents are people with one or more disabilities. Mayor Jim Kenney recently signed Executive Order 7-17, which formally established the Mayor’s Office on People with Disabilities.

Philadelphia Selects 27 Nominees for School Board

Mayor Jim Kenney today accepted the resignation of City Solicitor Sozi Pedro Tulante, and announced the appointment of Marcel S. Pratt, currently Chair of the Law Department’s Litigation Group, to succeed Tulante as Solicitor. The Mayor’s appointment is subject to City Council’s confirmation.

Don’t Take the Risk Campaign to Prevent Opioid Deaths

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia Department of Public Health launched the second phase of an emotional media campaign that is part of the City’s effort to decrease deaths related to opioid use. The campaign contains a collection of stories in English and Spanish told by people whose lives have been forever changed by prescription painkillers. SEPTA Bus and Tractor-Trailer Have Collided in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA - A SEPTA - Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus and a tractor-trailer have collided in Philadelphia, sending 15 individuals to a hospital. The collision occurred some-time around 5:30 a.m. February 20th on the corner of Frankford Avenue and Orthodox Street.
