Philadelphia, PA - Today, November 1, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. as a component of the Philadelphia Resilience Project, the City, is going to tackle a large-scale clean-up on Kensington Avenue. The 4 hr event is going to employ multiple city services and neighborhood volunteers to achieve the goal of the Resilience Project’s Mission Area 4, cutting down on garbage and litter.

Philadelphia Passes Sodium Bill Warning for Restaurant Menus

Philadelphia, PA - Calling it an important step forward for public health, Mayor Jim Kenney signed legislation today requiring chain restaurants to place warning labels next to each menu item containing 2,300 or more milligrams of sodium – the amount in about a teaspoon of salt – which is the maximum recommended total sodium intake for an entire day.

Philadelphia Streamlines In-Person Block Party Application Process

Philadelphia, PA -The Philadelphia Streets Department and Police Department announced today a streamlined process for residents applying for block party permits. Applicants will now have one less step in the approval process as they no longer need to visit their local Police District to submit an application in-person or by mail. The Departments will now manage this step of the process internally, saving residents extra time and added process.
