This includes local Bodine High School Senior Akayla Brown, 18 one of the recipients, who will put the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funds towards attending an out-of-state four-year institution.
Recipients receive money to cover five years of attendance includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation, and may include other personal costs. The amount each recipient receives varies depending on these factors.
