I Found Pickle Paradise in Wildwood: Rommadill Pickling Co.WILDWOOD, NJ - Let me tell you, I thought I knew all the essential food groups of a Wildwood vacation: pizza, fries, fudge, and maybe a lobster roll if you're feeling fancy. But this summer, a new spot has completely and wonderfully upended my expectations. On a walk down Pacific Avenue, I found my new must-visit destination: Rommadill Pickling Co., an artisanal pickle shop that is as wild and fun as the town itself.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Rommadill has brought its small-batch, creative pickle wizardry to its first-ever Jersey Shore location at 3109 Pacific Ave, in the former home of Ultra Neon. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn't your average pickle shop. The shelves were lined with their fan-favorite jarred pickles, and I immediately grabbed a jar of the Old Bay pickles (a no-brainer for any shore trip) and their spicy garlic spears.

But it was the made-to-order menu that truly blew my mind. This is where Rommadill goes all-in with some of the most inventive and over-the-top creations I’ve ever seen. I had to try their signature pickle chips, which are thin slices of sweet & hot pickles that you can get loaded with a "choose your crunch" combo of toppings like Maple Syrup Doritos or Nacho Cheese Cool Ranch Doritos. It’s a flavor explosion that sounds crazy but works so well.

For the truly adventurous, there were two creations that I had to see to believe. First, "The Lover Boy," a pickle split down the middle and stuffed with a wild combination of peanut butter, Nutella, and pretzel bits. It's a sweet, salty, tangy, and crunchy masterpiece that defies all expectations. Then there was the "Gilligan's Island," a pickle packed with a fusion of tuna, jalapeños, lite mayo, and sweet chili sauce. It’s as bold as it sounds, and surprisingly delicious!

I love that this isn't just another food stand; it’s a unique, creative business bringing a bold new flavor to the Wildwoods. Following a soft opening over the Easter weekend, the team is clearly ready for a busy and flavorful summer season.

If you are in downtown Wildwood and looking for a snack that's anything but ordinary, you absolutely have to stop by Rommadill Pickling Co. It’s a delicious, fun, and unforgettable experience that has already become a new staple of my Jersey Shore adventure. Don't forget to give them a follow on Instagram to keep up with their latest wild creations!
