Philadelphia, PALark's Rooftop - Dinner at Lark with Greg Basile to celebrate Dana Friedman joining our Keller Williams Devon Wayne office. Located just across the river from Manayunk, Lark's seventh-floor rooftop dining room and terrace boast a scenic treetop and river view from the original Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing property at 611 Righters Ferry Road in Bala Cynwyd. General Manager Kevin Krop greeted us like old friends when we arrived.

Even though Lark's Chef Nick Elmi was not at the restaurant tonight, Chef Michael Millon's dinner was excellent. I loved the Escargot with a garlicky pesto sauce made in vichyssoise butter, potato confit, and preserved lemon - the sauce was so fantastic you just wanted to eat it like soup! Once again, I ordered Gnocco Fritto, ricotta, and hand-sliced prosciutto with preserved lemon - a special dish! Plus, we also had Burrata with Roasted Carrots, also with more Pesto. Dana selected an orange wine to share with the table: Fernao Pires "Condemned" from Lisboa, Portugal. Kevin Krop, passionate about the wine list, told us a fascinating story about the magical medicinal qualities of the wine.

There was a pesto theme at dinner. We tried three pasta dishes. My favorite was the four cheese ravioli with wild onion and hazelnut pesto. My next favorite was the very tasty and flavorful pork Ravioli, and last and still good was the blue crab and Pink peppercorn Strozzapreti with old bay breadcrumbs. Peter are waiter, was Johnny on the spot keeping our water and ice glasses filled. He loves his job.

For my main course, I had the Roasted 14-ounce strip steak, which was very flavorful.

Dessert was delicious, too - a vanilla panda cotta with fresh raspberries and a touch of chocolate. Kevin Kropp treated us to a glass of Riesling Domaine Jean-Pierre from Alsace. Greg especially loved this. What a way to finish dinner.
