I may have only gone to West Chester five times in my life, but I was never a fan. If you were ever curious about West Chester, now is the time to go there.
West Chester's Cheesesteak and Beer Combo
Traffic is light so going north on 202 is not the ride from devil land that it usually is. West Chester University students are studying remotely, so the city is not very crowded.
The city has done an excellent job closing Gay Street and opening it up to the dining. Plus, you can find parking, and they have so many historical buildings—big shout out to West Chester, PA.
Buddy's Burgers Breasts and Fries has been on my go-to list for a little while, and for all the reasons stated above, we decided to go there. Because they were not busy at the time, we were able to talk to the wonderful young woman behind the counter. Buddies have a great menu with some fun combinations of cheeses, sauces, and extras.
Amigo Dan, the wonderful young woman behind the counter, and I put our heads together. She came up with a cheesesteak concoction for us with their cheddar cheese sauce, fried onions, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and Voodoo sauce.
We took our Cheesesteaks outside to eat at the tables on the closed for traffic Gay street and asked the nice young man from Kildare's if we could order a drink to eat with our Buddy's Cheesesteak. He said absolutely, but we had to sit at their tables.
Our Cheesesteak came on a nice, seeded roll. I think the wonderfulness of everything else may have hidden some deficiencies in the roll—the right amount of meat that did not get lost in the other compelling flavors.
I was afraid this Cheesesteak would be too wet with the cheese sauce, roasted peppers, and Voodoo sauce. It was not. Everything played together wonderfully. Many intense flavors on this Cheesesteak could have conflicted with each other, but they were mixed wonderfully and had a perfect balance.
I wish I remembered the name of my drink from Kildare's because it was pretty darn tasty. Between the nice young woman behind the counter at Buddy's and our waiter from Kildare's, we met two accommodating and hard-working young people
