Philadelphia, PA - This Final Four has a network TV sitcom star, a James Beard award winner, new old owners, and a place that did not serve a cheesesteak (nor any food) a year ago. This Final Four has something for everyone and may start more 'who has the best cheesesteak' arguments than it answers. The question I want to be answered is; Is beer cheese the new whiz?

The Philly Region
John's Roast Pork, 14 Snyder Ave, Philadelphia, PA
Let's get it out there. Early in my Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure, I went to JRP and didn't like it. At least weekly, I explain to someone why I didn't like JRP. The good news is I have heard a lot of very good 'Why JRP is my favorite cheesesteak' stories. As you're reading this, on a cheesesteak Facebook page, at least one person professes their love for John's Roast Pork. Sorry for the video (and my hair); it was early in the adventure, and an iPhone5.
The Other Counties Region
Workhorse Brewing Co, 250 King Manor Dr, King of Prussia, PA.
Workhorse Brewing was one of my favorite places to eat cheesesteaks. I was very disappointed when they told me they started making their cheesesteak and stopped allowing outside food. But I was thrilled when I heard they made their homemade beer cheese. I was even happier when I ate their cheesesteak. I hope self-made beer cheese is the future of cheesesteaks.
The NJ/DE Region
Donkey's Place, 1223 Haddon Ave, Camden, NJ.
This is one of my favorite places in the world. I love sitting in the back and listening to Rob (3rd generation owner) talk about the place, his family, and their connection to the community. Is the Goldberg kid correct? Does the best Philly cheesesteak come from Camden? Cheesesteak trivia, which cheesesteak place has a Jim Thorpe (person, not town) connection?
The Delco Region
Phil & Jim's Steaks & Hoagies, 2905 Edgmont Ave, Brookhaven, PA.
Another great story from the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure. Gia, Dan & Costa are the old owners of Phil & Jim's. Dan & Costa worked at Phil & Jim's when they were teenagers. Gia would stop by and make googly eyes at her future husband while he worked. Several years ago, they jumped at the chance to buy their old place of employment. The place looks mostly the same, but it has a rejuvenated feel.
