MilkBoy Philly Beer Week Events
Beer-enthusiasts can look forward to MilkBoy’s free OGB Block Party at MilkBoy South Street on Saturday, June 1, from 12-8 pm, paying homage to Philadelphia’s O.G. Brewers and craft beer scene. South Street will be closed between 4th and 5th Streets for this expansive outdoor street celebration which will feature can and draft releases from Yards Brewing Co., Philadelphia Brewing Co., Dock Street Brewery, Dogfish Head, Victory Beer, and Tröegs Independent Brewing as well as a live DJ, prizes and more surprises.
Additionally, MilkBoy on 11th and Chestnut will present a Tröegs Independent Brewing Event featuring local heroes Jimmy Scantron of Low Cut Connie on Tuesday, June 4, from 7 pm to 12 am. The event includes guest performances by Nalani & Sarina and Taylor Lenahan at the upstairs concert venue at MilkBoy Chestnut and never before tasted releases of the newest Tröegs beers along with giveaways and fun prizes. Tickets for this event can be found here.
“Philadelphia is built on iconic duos: Hall and Oates, Joel and Ben, the Fanatic and Gritty, and now MilkBoy and Philly Beer Week. It’s been a team year in the making and on June 1st we are kicking off Philly Beer Week with a block party on the iconic 400 block of South Street,” says Chris Beyer, Director of Operations at Milkboy. “The party keeps rolling all week with Brewery Sponsored concerts upstairs at Chestnut Street and promos at South. One show I’m particularly excited about is Tuesday, June 4th, where Troegs will be the spotlight brewery. Moreover, we are very proud to cap off PBW on Chestnut Street with the only LGBTQ Philly Beer Week event. This is going to be a Philly Beer Week that people won’t forget and we’re more than excited to finally be a part of it.”
A first for Philly Beer Week, Get Milk’ed will celebrate the end of Philly Beer Week and the start of Philadelphia Pride Fest on Sunday, June 9, from 12-9 pm at MilkBoy Chestnut with a Queer Pride Festival & Dance Party hosted by Ebony Fierce. Guests can enjoy special themed cans of DC Brau Brewing Company’s Pride Pils, a limited release (only 1,200 cases brewed) featuring activist Marsha P Johnson.
All Pride Pils proceeds are going to benefit SMYAL and The Blade Foundation, empowering LGBTQ youth and LGBTQ journalists. Along with some additional surprise drafts and cans from Evil Genius Beer Company and Boulder Brewing and a top secret CBD cocktail from Stateside Vodka, this fun event will include free burlesque, drag and art performances by Sa’Mantha SayTen, Wordz The Poet Emcee, Pretty Girl, Renaissance Noir, Mercury, La Deva Arazel and Kno Picks and Cam Noite at the upstairs concert venue. Performances start at 4pm.
