Philadelphia, PAPhiladelphia, PA - Saxbys - Saxbys announce the debut of its brand new coffee program, sourced globally, and roasted locally at the brand’s new 7,000 square foot South Philly roastery. A carefully curated team of prize-winning baristas, coffee trainers, expert roasters, and experienced green coffee buyers, the original lineup of coffee is now available across all Saxbys cafés.

Philadelphia CoffeeTo celebrate the brand is offering a week of free coffee (12 oz hot coffee or cold brew) ALL week across ALL of Saxbys cafés. Ends Oct 18th 2019

“We firmly believe great coffee is a direct result of great relationships. We are committed to going to origin to continue our partnerships and develop new relationships that are both authentic and transparent. These relationships mean everything to us, but ultimately we are there to find coffee we hope our guests will enjoy,” shared David Amos, Vice President of Coffee. “We take pride in doing this across our entire lineup — regardless of whether it is a single origin or a blend.”

The new team will be responsible for sourcing globally coffee to bring home to roast at Saxbys’ newest roastery located at 2415 Morris Street in the Point Breeze section of South Philly. The facility is located in a converted century-old ice house and led by Lead Roaster Gregg Roberson. It features a 728-ton yearly roast capacity and is instrumental in Saxby's four new blends and upcoming single-origin offerings.

The Saxbys Roastery is roasting and bagging four new coffee blends (with some fantastic single origins to come soon). They include:

Pep Talk: A lively and well-rounded reminder that you rock, today and every day. Saxbys’ team tastes notes of butterscotch, chocolate chips, and dark cherry.
• Liquid Courage Dark Roast: Can’t champion a life full of calculated risks without a little liquid courage. Satisfying and smooth, some may detect dark chocolate, maple, and vanilla.
Go-Getter Espresso: We’ll go anywhere as long as this coffee gets to ride shotgun. Tastes of burnt caramel, honey, and black tea.
No Strings Decaf: Meet a great [decaf] blend, here to make life better, no strings attached. The team tastes baker's chocolate, nougat, and soft cranberry.
