At the Water’s Edge, your guy will be on sensory overload, and you will be able to break any bad news to him. It starts with water, boat slips, and a deck bar. They have ‘the pool house.’ They currently have comedy nights in the pool house.
In the main building, they have a big room, and that night, they had a corn hole championship. I know, I thought those were only in Florida.
The main bar and diner rooms are spacious, well decorated, and vibrate. Before I talk about the fantastic food, I will tell you about the one thing that sets the Water’s Edge apart from any other facility in the Philadelphia/Pennsylvania/New Jersey/ Delaware area.
The bad news you have for your guy is you want to throw your parent’s a 50th Wedding Anniversary party. It includes flying in relatives. How will your guy happily agree to this event? The Water’s Edge Gastropub and Lounge.
They have plenty of room for a big dinner party - and food that everyone will rave about. But wait a minute, relatives flying in will want a quiet place to relax and visit after the big event. And they will need a place to stay. And a family breakfast the next day.
Boom; The Water’s Edge has a former Bed and Breakfast on the property. Double Boom; was built in the 1800s. Triple Boom; a bar, 6 guest rooms, and space for next day’s breakfast. How do we close this deal? The Food.
Start off with the Chicken Pharm Egg Rolls. Next appetizer, Macaroni & Cheese Waffles with Bacon Cheese Sauce. When he is reeling from them, hit him with Deep Fried Ribs in a sticky sweet brown sauce.
Everyman will say yes to anything right now but show him who his boss is, Cheesesteak Wrap with French Fries. Yes, it is a cheesesteak wrap, and I took a point or two off for that.
The meat, Ribeye, and cheese work so well together that they could be served on anything and be a top cheesesteak. This Cheesesteak puts the cheese in Cheesesteak, with a perfect amount of cheese melt. Next, the Caramelized onions do their part and, for a little flavor, some bacon fat.
Why not go full-on food coma with the Deep Fried Red Velvet cake with a side of ice cream for dessert. I wish I could tell you about the steak served on top of mashed sweet potatoes, but they never made it to my end of the table. It looked, smelled, and sounded amazing. I was on excellent food high, so it didn’t bother me.
