Philadelphia, PAAdams' Rib & Grille - The Claymont Delaware foodie scene is alive and well. A day of drinking and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan ended with an Adam's Rib and Grille brisket sandwich at Hangman Brewing Company. Both have a Philadelphia Pike address.

First, if you are looking to support local businesses by shopping local. Here are two places you should consider supporting. Both are very new businesses run by conscientious, customer service driven, hard-working, good people.

I called our order into Adams Rib and Grill, and the young woman that answered the phone was a delight. When I asked for cheese on our brisket sandwich, she asked if they put cheese on the brisket because no one ever gets cheese on their brisket sandwich. They put cheese on my brisket sandwich for me.

When I got there to pick up our sandwich, I was greeted by three of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. I felt so good about Adam Rib & Grille I got a piece of cheesecake. I can see going to Adam's Rib and Grille just for the cheesecake. The brisket was delicious, but the roll was average at best. Everyone else is right to not get cheese on the brisket sandwich.

We took our Prescott sandwich to Hangman Brewing Company, in the same Shopping Center. Technically it's in the same building, just on the complete opposite end.

Along with brewing great beer, hangman Brewing is trying to revive the northern Delaware music scene. I really like the industrial, goth, music venue decor, complete with a skeleton decked out in her best red dress. Our former Navy man bartender was great.

Brad, the brewmaster, decorator, floor sweeper, entertainment booker, and owner, was a pleasure to talk to. They always have a draft special. The special was a dark porter, and we caught it. It was yummy, but I am really looking forward to going back and trying the raspberry ale.
