Philadelphia, PA - On a Monday afternoon, and I ended up in Bryn Mawr, PA. Cheesesteak guy trivia footnote, I grew up on Bryn Mawr Ave. I took one extra ride before breaking for lunch, and I'm glad I did. With COVID-19, most of my lifts have stayed in DE.
Review of Lovecchio's Pizza - Bryn Mawr, PA
Lovecchio's is in a good location at a wrong location. They are on Landover Rd right off of Haverford Rd so you could drive by them. But they share a building with Bryn Mawr Beverage Company, and Bryn Mawr Beverage Company has had a steady flow of customers. Lovecchio's Pizza is a typical pizza shop with a couple of tables and a small bathroom. Lucky for me, the bathroom was open.
Contrary to some of the Google Map Reviews I read, Lovecchio's looked clean to me. Basic menu with Stromboli and 'Our Famous Pizza' occupying ⅓ of it, but I like Cheesesteaks.
I was greeted by an amiable young man. I told him I was having a problem picking between the Big Kahuna and Mega Cheesesteak. He recommended the Mega, and I chuckled because it was $2 more expensive than the other Cheesesteaks (comparing the cheesesteaks on the menu, $2 got you pepperoni, lettuce, and tomatoes).
It came with fried onions, mushrooms, pepperoni, extra cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes and cost $12.95. I'm starting to see why people get mad at me for complaining about $12 cheesesteaks. There seems to be a cluster of $12 cheesesteaks.
I guess I am lucky that I get to drive around and find delicious $9 cheesesteaks. This Cheesesteak had a lot of flavors. I don't know if it was the pepperoni or the extra cheese, but this Cheesesteak has a lot of flavors. The meat was a thicker slice and worked perfectly with the extra cheese and pepperoni. The roll was good, but the fried onions and mushrooms got a little lost. This was a good cheesesteak.
