The two story completely renovated space is a contemporary chic addition to the Rittenhouse Hotel replacing the previous Smith & Wollensky restaurant. Patrons can enter through the lower street level doors or from the hotel lobby into the main bar area. Scarpetta offers a distinctly bold menu including signature handmade in house pasta, raw and cooked seafood, various meat choices, and vegetarian or vegan options. High quality and local seasonal ingredients are used to execute the dishes with superb attention to detail and originality. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating due to the required training program held at other locations prior to opening. The training program aims to ensure full understanding of the Scarpetta culture, menu awareness and tasting, in addition to how ingredients are selected. Scarpetta’s atmosphere is welcoming, energizing, and unique creating a striking entrance into the refined neighborhood.

Scarpetta's Chef Jorge EspinozaChef - Though Mexican by heritage, Espinoza’s true passion lies in Italian cuisine. A butcher turned high-end chef, Espinoza grew up in Gueretaro, learning the art of cuisine from his parents, both excellent cooks. He began his stateside cooking career in New York City, eventually linking up with chef Scott Conant in 2003. Along with Antonello Paganuzzi, they would go on to open the first location of Scarpetta in 2008, an imprint that would eventually expand to multiple cities, including Philadelphia in 2016.
