PENNSYLVANIA — The tropical breeze is fading across the Commonwealth. Darden Restaurants announced on February 3, 2026, that it is retiring the Bahama Breeze brand nationwide. For Pennsylvania, this results in a "double closure" as both of the state’s remaining locations are slated for permanent shutdown this spring.
The restaurants in both King of Prussia and Pittsburgh will officially cease operations on April 5, 2026, marking the brand’s total exit from the state.
The Final Sunset in PA
While Darden plans to convert 14 other Bahama Breeze locations across the country into different restaurant concepts (such as Yard House or Olive Garden), neither of the Pennsylvania sites was selected for a rebrand. Instead, they join the list of 14 locations nationwide that will close their doors for good.
This follows a difficult period for the chain, which saw systemwide sales declines and previous rounds of closures in 2025. With this final move, Darden is consolidating its focus on more scalable brands within its portfolio.
Affected Locations
The two sites closing permanently are:
- King of Prussia: 320 Goddard Blvd., King of Prussia, PA
- Pittsburgh (Robinson Township): 6100 Robinson Center Drive, Pittsburgh, PA
For years, these locations have served as local escapes, known for their live music, fire-roasted jerk chicken, and signature tropical cocktails. Their departure will leave a significant void in the casual dining landscape for fans of Caribbean-inspired flavors.
Supporting the Local Teams
Darden Restaurants has emphasized that its primary goal during this transition is to care for the staff members at both the King of Prussia and Pittsburgh locations. The company’s support strategy includes:
- Internal Placement: Making every effort to place affected employees into new roles at other nearby Darden-owned restaurants.
- Portfolio Strength: Since Darden operates numerous other brands in both the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh markets—including LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, and Seasons 52—there are many opportunities for staff to stay within the company.
"Going forward, the primary focus will continue to be on supporting team members, including placing as many as possible in roles within the Darden portfolio." — Darden Restaurants News Release
Final Call for Island Flavors
Pennsylvania residents have until Sunday, April 5, 2026, to visit their local Bahama Breeze for one last round of coconut shrimp and Bahamaritas. After that date, the tropical-themed era in the Keystone State will officially come to a close.
