Stokelan Winery in Medford Awaits Approval
The mansion is an architectural marvel, and the new winery is slated to open this summer. Owner Deepa Lal and winemaker Andrew Dick envision a day when the town's residents will visit the winery's tasting room and learn about the region's history. The mansion is 10.5 acres and is surrounded by preserved farmland. The Stokelan family plans to sell bottles worth $20 and up.
Although the Stokelan Winery is still in the early stages of construction, the historic Stokelan Mansion on Eayrestown Road is set to open this summer. While the winery will be at the top of the list, the coronavirus pandemic has caused a delay in the opening. And yet, it seems that this project is still moving forward at the historic country house. And while we wait, we hope it will eventually open.
The five-bedroom mansion will be converted into a tasting room, and a 4,000-square-foot two-story barn will house the production and sales of wine. It will have a pavilion and picnic area for guests to gather. Eventually, the Lals will offer private tours and special events, such as weddings.
The first grapes will be ready in four years, and the winery will focus on making the best possible wine. They also hope to focus on landscaping and the surrounding environment to build out the winery. And special events like weddings and other special events in the tasting room are being planned for the future.
The winery will also serve local food. They'll also reach out to local caterers for special events. The winery is located in southern New Jersey. The area is known for excellent restaurants and hotels.
