Philadelphia, PA - On Thursday, August 9, 2018, Yards Brewing Company will celebrate being named Best Local Brewery (by public vote) and Best Brewpub (by editor’s vote) in Philadelphia magazine’s Best of Philly 2018 issue by throwing down with a free concert in the warehouse to thank everybody who’s supported them along the way.
From 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., guests will get their first beer free plus a party-exclusive koozie to keep their cans cold. Then, for the first time since opening their new location, Yards will invite guests back to the warehouse for a free concert surrounded by towers of bottles, kegs, and cans. The all Philly band lineup features TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb, Hard work Movement, and Marah, founder Tom Kehoe’s personal favorites.
“2018 has been an incredible year around here,” says Kehoe. “The Eagles kicked it off unforgettably, then Villanova brought home a National Championship, and now, we are proud, honored, and humbled to have been voted Best Local Brewery. We owe this success to the good people of Philly, so we’re having a party to say thanks.”
Yards bartenders will be pouring both Philadelphia Pale Ale and Best of Philly Lager for $4 in the Yards taproom, and the full dining menu crafted by Chef Jim Burke will be available to order from all night until the bar closes at 11 p.m. Best of Philly Lager is a floral and hoppy Pilsner-style Lager brewed with 100% pilsner malt, Loral hops, and a whole lot of Philly pride. Copies of Philadelphia magazine’s Best of Philly 2018 issue will also be available to take home. Also, Brawler and Philadelphia Pale Ale cans will be on sale in the warehouse from two additional service bars.
