ChixWings 2Chix & BowlsThe original Chix & Wings can be found on 11th street and opened in 2012. October 2016, they expanded with Chix & Bowls. The focus of both restaurants is simple, to reinvent the classic American comfort food – chicken. Many types of cuisine are incorporated at the restaurant through cooking styles and housemade sauces.

One of the most popular menu items are the Rice Bowls served with a protein, grilled veggies and sesame carrots. Customers can choose from white, brown or chix rice (made with chicken broth). Protein options include: Teriyaki Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Katsu Chicken, Lime Jalapeño Chicken, Spicy Garlic Chicken, and Jamaican Jerk Chicken. New to the menu are Shrimp Kabobs, Steak Kabobs, and Veggie Kabobs– all marinated, and grilled to order.

And obviously they must have chicken wings! The Crispy Wings are with sweet pickles and prepared like Korean Fried Chicken. The most popular flavors are Spicy Garlic and Sweet Chili. Portions are 6 or 10 wings. They’ve also got Classic wings (non-battered) most order these with Buffalo sauce and they take 12 min prep time. Portions are 10 or larger available for catering orders.

One of our favorite things at Chix are their sauces which are all homemade. The Chili Aioli is by far the biggest hit. Other sauces include Honey BBQ, Sweet Chili, Spicy BBQ, Buffalo, Sesame Garlic, Blue Cheese, Spicy Garlic, and Ranch. Customers use these sauces for pouring over rice, as salad dressing, and for dipping.

Salads are unique to the Rittenhouse location. The Olive Vinaigrette Salad is made with mixed greens, pickled onions, Parmesan cheese, tossed in house olive balsamic vinaigrette. We tried the Kale Apple Salad with chopped kale, shredded carrots, sliced apples, tossed in house roasted sesame kale vinaigrette and sprinkled with sesame seeds. They also served a more indulgent Crispy Sesame Ginger Chicken Salad with mixed greens, carrots, shredded cheese, tossed in house sweet sesame ginger dressing.ChixWings 5

And for dessert they’re serving Fried Oreos! Because we all know your meal is best finished with something sweet. Check out delivery from Chix & Wings and Chix & Bowls online and via UberEATS, Postmates, Caviar, and Grub hub. And be sure to dine in to take advantage of their everyday special for sandwiches which include fries to make it a combo with a drink for only $1 more.
