Green (At-Large) will award Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, with a ceremonial Liberty Bell and a Mayoral Proclamation honoring the group for their accomplishments in the music industry. Maze feat. Frankie Beverly started out as Raw Soul in Philadelphia during the early 1970s. After a location change to San Francisco in 1971 and an introduction to Marvin Gaye, the group became an instant success. Some of their hits include “Before I Let Go,” “Happy Feelin’s,” and “While I’m Alone.” The group won the prestigious Trumpet Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 and the BET Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. They continue to attract sold-out audiences, shedding a long-lived title of “best kept secret in the industry”.
