2022 March Cheesesteak Madness
March Cheesesteak Madness is a 64 cheesesteak entry bracket-style tournament that mirrors the college basketball tournament. We have 64 cheesesteaks entered and two champions—a People's Champion and a Judge's Champion. The People's Champion is selected by online voting. The Judge's Champion is chosen by judges that eat every cheesesteak.
The tournament is a bracket-style tournament. The 64 Cheesesteaks are broken into four regions. The regions are; 1. The Philadelphia Region. 2. The Delaware County, Delco, Region. 3. The NJ/DE Region. 4. The Remaining Philadelphia Area County Region. This region combines Chester, Montgomery, Berks, and Bucks counties cheesesteaks.
The selection process. This was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I went to my spreadsheet and sorted by cheesesteaks that earned a score of 90 or higher. The regions were divided so that each area would have approximately the same number (36) of cheesesteaks that scored 90 or higher. Then I had to get from about 36 cheesesteaks per region. Yes, some well-deserving cheesesteaks didn't make it to the big dance. Sorry but there is always next year.
The People's Champion will be decided by online voting. Voting will be done here on PhillyBite Magazine.

The Judge's Champion will be decided by eating every cheesesteak. The judges will be using my scoring system. The Judge's eating and scoring will be posted here on PhillyBite and Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure's YouTube channel, Facebook, and Website.
This year, we will run the people's bracket and then the Judge's bracket. The judges make a big-time and gastronomical commitment. We judge four cheesesteaks at a time. We judge four cheesesteaks at a time to cover two rounds of the tournament. The tournament is six rounds, so the winning cheesesteak in the Judge's bracket has been eaten and judged three times. Consistency does come into play. Do you love cheesesteaks? Do you want to be a judge? Contact me. Judging has begun, but we have a lot of cheesesteaks to eat and judge.
Last year's People's Champion was ByGeorge, Reading Terminal, Philadelphia.
Last Year's Judge's Champion was Phil & Jim's Steaks & Hoagies, 2905 Edgemont Ave, Brookhaven.
