Philadelphia, PAGathering of Poker Titans - The WSOP series recently debuted its 54th series, which promises to be the most exciting input by far. This year’s iteration kicked off on May 30 and will run for seven weeks into July 18. Like last year, the series will be hosted in Sun City, Nevada. Among other exciting things to look forward to, the 54th WSOP series will feature some of the biggest names in the competition. Here is a closer look at what’s coming.

The Schedule

The WSOP posts the official schedule on its official website every year, which it did last Thursday. The already-underway series will include over 120 bracelet events, encompassing both online and live tournaments. If you cannot make it to Las Vegas, you can participate in the online events. You can also visit www.legaluspokersites.com to keep abreast of developing news and any schedule changes.

The series will again be held in the Las Vegas Strip, particularly the Horseshoe and Paris hotel and casinos. The buy-ins will typically range from $300 to $250,000. Of the bracelet events, 95 will be live, 20 will be online and facilitated by the New Jersey-Nevada WSOP.com network, and another 7 online events will be awarded by the Pennsylvania and Michigan markets.

WSOP Thrill Team

One aspect of the WSOP 2023 series to look forward to is the WSOP thrill team. This group is formed by bringing together some of the world’s most renowned poker players. This year, the thrill team was banded to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the WSOP app. It includes:

  1. WSOP bracelet and 5 WSOP rings winner Ethan Yau
  2. 20 WSOP cashes winner Landon Tice
  3. The leading money winner of all time in Alaska, Adam Hendrix
  4. 3-time casher at WSOP 2021, Samantha Abernathy
  5. The first and only female poker player to rank first in the Global Poker Index, Vanessa Selbst
  6. 2022 WSOP champion, Espan Jorstad
  7. 3-time player at the WSOP final table, Patrik Antonius

This roster is set to grace the WSOP event and compete in the live tournament in what will be the showdown of the year. Selbst has called the team, “an all-star selection that reflects the diversity [of poker].”

WSOP Main Event

Of course the main event will be the tournament not to miss this year. With a $10,000 buy-in, it is set to feature some heavy hitters and interesting hands. Per the schedule, the event will run from July 3 to July 17. The organizers plan it intentionally every year so it coincides with the 4th of July celebrations.

The main event will feature four starting players and flights around July 9. If the event draws more than 8,773 entries – the 2006 record – the WSOP will trigger the “Main Event for Life” promotion. This new campaign will see all main event field players entered into a drawing on July 8, with the winner expected to win a WSOP Main Event buy-in for the next 3 decades.

Purpose to Be There

There is no doubt that the WSOP 2023 series will be jam-packed with excitement and high-stakes drama. Buy your ticket if you have not done so already or log online to keep up with the events as they unravel on The Strip.
