 Civil War-themedPhiladelphia, PA - This summer, visitors to the National Constitution Center can encounter several Civil War-themed programming as well as the Center’s brand-new exhibit, Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality.


Civil War Battle for Freedon and Equality

The National Constitution Center’s main lobby is going to be converted into a Union Army encampment this summer. And, guests to the Center can try on replica Civil War uniforms as well as examine supplies soldiers might have used in their camps.

Visitors can also participate in Town Hall programs alongside President Abraham Lincoln, delight in a theatrical performance featuring Frances E.W. Harper, and take part in interactive Military Muster events.

Philadelphia Constitution Center Events

Additionally, visitors can experience FOURTEEN this summer, a moving theatrical performance which sheds light on the Reconstruction era as well as the ratification of the 14th Amendment. FOURTEEN runs Thursdays through Saturdays and is supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
