Philadelphia, PA - Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, will host its sixth Spartan Race on Saturday, September 22, 2018. For one day only, athletes will have a chance to run the Spartan Race through one of Major League Baseball's best ballparks!
The Spartan Race event combines the existing attributes of the ballpark (inside and out) with the brand's constructed obstacles. The test of strength and agility will see competitors climbing steep stairs, racing down concourses and facing tall walls, rope climbs, monkey bars and more. Additionally, race day will feature the Spartan Kids Race, a specialized obstacle course for children between the ages of 4-12 and also the Special Spartans Heat, customized for young athletes with developmental disabilities as well as those with intellectual or vocational delays.
To make Spartan's return to Philadelphia even more special, Phillies fans will receive exclusive pricing of 25% off the registration price using the promotional code: "PHILLIESFAN2018." Go to www.Spartan.com/Philadelphia to register.
"We're excited to bring Spartan's signature stadium series event back to Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Park!" said CEO and Spartan founder Joe DeSena. "Competing in a Spartan Race at one of the nation's best ballparks is such a unique experience for Spartan and Phillies fans alike. We can't wait to push competitors to their limits and see what they are made of on September 22."
Parents can register their children under 13 years old for the Spartan Kids Race. Spartan Kids has 2K and 4K heats with 15+ obstacles. Targeting kids age 4-12, each obstacle is crafted to instill child-like adventure, courage, camaraderie, and a sense of accomplishment. Like the adults, all finishers receive a Spartan T-shirt, finisher's medal and a great sense of accomplishment.
The event at Citizens Bank Park is part of the Spartan Stadium Series which brings the brand's signature three-mile "Sprint" races to eight storied ballparks and stadiums across the country.
Spartan Race, the world's leading obstacle race, was voted Outside magazine's "Best Obstacle Race." With more than 1 million participants and 200 events planned around the globe this year, Spartan Race continues trailblazing the creation of one of the fastest growing sports in the world. And now the excitement of the Spartan Race is on cable and network television with another season of Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge premiering on NBC and of Spartan's U.S. Championship Series launching on NBC Sports, raising the bar on competition.
