Philadelphia, PA - The countdown begins for the Phillies Charities 5K! Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies, is hosting the 7th annual Phillies Charities 5K, presented by Toyota, on Saturday, April 1. The USATF certified 5K (3.1 mile) run starts and ends at Citizens Bank Park with a new route that includes a loop through the Navy Yard.
There will be fun Phillies surprises along the route, live music and more. Highlights include:
Surprise guests, including the Phanatic, Phillies Alumni, Phillies Ballgirls and more!
Live music at the start and finish by Toga Party Band, plus live music throughout the course.
Cool down lap around the warning track on the field (weather permitting). Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras.
Each finisher of the Phillies Charities 5K, presented by Toyota, will be awarded a medal upon crossing the finish line.
The top overall male and female finishers will receive a Phillies Charities 5K Louisville Slugger baseball bat autographed by a Phillies player and be recognized after crossing the finish line. They will also be recognized on the field prior to the Phillies game on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
The top finisher in each age category will receive a Phillies Charities 5K Rawlings baseball autographed by a Phillies player.
Following the event, participants and spectators are invited to attend the official post-race party at XFINITY Live!
"The Phillies Charities 5K, presented by Toyota, has been brought up to speed for the 2017 season with a new route from Citizens Bank Park through the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia," said Mary Ann Moyer, Phillies Race Director. "We have added Phillies surprises along the course that make this race fun for repeat racers and newcomers of all ages."
